Interior Design is an exciting and rewarding career that draws upon creative, technical and problem-solving expertise to improve the function and quality of interior spaces. The Interior Design department offers options which encompass both residential and commercial environments, tailored for students seeking a strong technical and academic foundation as a streamlined means of entry into the interior design industry. The programs develop the skills required to be job-ready, incorporating a broad interdisciplinary approach to real-world applications.
Bachelor of Interior Design Program Overview
BCIT offers a four-year, CIDA (Council for Interior Design Accreditation) accredited Bachelor of Interior Design, with both full-time and part-time study options. The first year of study is designed as a foundation year (Certificate). Students who complete the 2nd year of the program will obtain a Diploma.
Students will receive a Bachelor Degree after completion of the four-year program. Graduates are eligible to write the NCIDQ exam upon completion of the required work experience, and will then have a direct path to becoming a Registered Interior Designer.

The program gives students the tools they need to become catalysts for the enrichment of human experience and stewards of the natural environment. Strong relationships with Industry and international partners provide opportunities for students and faculty to connect locally and globally.
